Q: What is “assisted living?”
A: Designed for those needing assistance with the activities of daily living to enhance their independence. The activities of daily living include help with getting dressed, eating, bathing and managing and taking medications.
Q: What is “memory care?”
A: Our Memory Care Neighborhood offers a home-like environment, with individualized services with those with dementia, Alzheimer’s or other memory-related disorders. The Meadowlands partners with the Alzheimer’s Association to provide special training to staff and support residents and their families with needed programs and resources.
Q: What distinguishes The Meadowlands from other area communities?
A: The Meadowlands offers the latest innovations in assisted living and memory care with local quality and charm in mind. The programming provided is based upon the latest innovations and research in resident-centered, dignity-enhancing services.
Q:What does it cost to live at The Meadowlands?
A: Meadowlands has three distinct neighborhoods: Memory Care, Assisted Living and Special Care along with services that are unbundled so that charges are based only on the care needed. There are VA benefits available to certain Veterans and Surviving Spouses that can help pay for assisted living.There are VA benefits available to certain Veterans and Surviving Spouses that can help pay for assisted living.
Q: What exactly are VA benefits and do you help file for them?
A: Aid and Attendance is a special pension the VA provides Veterans and their Spouses to help cover the cost of assisted living. It pays anywhere from $1,094 to $2,019 per month. There are specific requirements and we would be happy to help you find out whether someone is well qualified for this benefit. We do offer assistance in filing for this benefit.
Q: Are there common areas and rooms available for residents and their guests?
A: Our senior living community offers an abundance of common areas for friends and families to meet. A full-service restaurant offering dining from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. is available in addition to a multi-media chapel, creative children’s room, country kitchen, private dining, Wall Street room, and cozy parlors.
Q: Are meals included?
A: Residents and guests may enjoy meals at The Meadowlands from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with convenient, open dining. Our trained chefs have developed an extensive menu offering many mouth-watering entrée selections and homemade desserts. View a sample menu here.
Q: Is transportation available or do residents need a car?
A: The Meadowlands provides a bus for shopping, banking, and other transportation events scheduled in the calendar. The Meadowlands will provide one scheduled health care professional transportation service a month- without charge – within the St. Charles County and scheduled in advance. This is a drop off and pick up service where there may need to be someone to meet the resident at the appointment for further assistance. There will be a surcharge for additional scheduled transportation needs.
